Our therapeutic boarding school is a faith-based residential program with a heart for character maturity and family unity. We provide services to 20 boys in a home-like environment where struggling adolescents take on more positive life attitudes, flourish in their belief, find a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. We offset hard work with inviting recreation including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our beautiful mountainous location provides excellent opportunity for backpacking, camping and hiking.
A therapeutic boarding school that strives to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and helping them to rebuild relationships. Adolescents come to Boys Ranch from across the nation, including from Washington, and often find it valuable to spend time in a new environment detached from local peer groups.
A Place Where Key Relationships Bring About Change
Each teen begins by establishing trust with an adult mentor. Engaging activities and daily chores build a solid work ethic and many other positive character qualities. Then, framed by a relationship with a mentor, the teen can work through the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Residents at Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn as they do best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key role in any worthwhile education, and we communicate this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration takes place only with the total commitment of parents. We require parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We assist with frequent contact between parents and teens using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
We are a Christ-centered program that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will benefit your child all of his or her life. Please think about looking beyond Washington to see how our caring program can bring restoration to your family.
